RIP Dede Allen

A couple months ago we catered a Birthday Party for Dede Allen's husband. We do a lot of high profile events that I remain emotionally neutral on, but it was on this rare occasion that I was completely star struck as Ms Allen was a Hollywood legend and a groundbreaking editor of an impressive array of very important films, a woman of strength and extraordinary vision. We extend our utmost sympathies to her loving husband, Stephen Fleischman as well as to her other family members and friends.

Here is a piece from the LA Times:

Rochelle's Birthday

Last week was our dear friend Rochelle's Birthday. Her family flew and drove in from New Orleans to celebrate. Honestly, I don't even remember what Matt cooked, which is unusual for me, because there was so much love in the room that the food, the hour, the setting fell away so that we were all filled with the bounty and the unity of family and closeness, and the food was simply an echo of that love.

We rejoiced and enjoyed.

Pig Tacos for The Pharmacie

Last night, as you Silverlakians may already know the Pharmacie where five cocktails are are served up, but this night we were there with a Nieman Ranch Pig in tow.

Matt made a taco buffet with said pig and some vegetarian options.

We picked up some hand made tortillas at a great little store in Baldwin Park.

Tal (in pink shirt and bow tie) gave it up to Matt...

And Matt just had fun doing what he does.

Stay tuned for the next Pharmacie Event!

Chicken Roulade Pizza

Today for a lunch drop-off going out, I was "helping" Matt package when he cut these guys up on our tried but true cutting board and I stopped him, Wait!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't you? I mean they look gorgeous, I had to shoot them. Anyway, now he's going to be late and it's my fault but I just had to share. These taste as good as they look.

Chicken Roulade Pizza with Brinata & Fresh Mozzarella Cheese over a Puree of Fresh Ricotta, Pickled Peppers, and Sweet & Sour Onions.

YUMMO!

Eggs Divine Eggs

I'm so sorry if you didn't get to eat this for your Easter Brunch!

This is a perfectly cooked Organic Egg basted in Brown Butter over Slow Braised Brisket and Hash with Grilled Toast, Spicy Romesco & Salsa Verde, and it was unbelievable.

I'm not even kidding.

Omelette Station

Have you ever eaten a Lasagna Cupcake and thought, wow, these fixings make for a great egg. Well here you go...

Guests chose from Confit Baby Artichokes, Grilled Vegetables, Pork Belly, Pickled Fennel, Sweet and Sour Onions, Smoked Ham, Charred Cherry Tomatoes, Andouille Sausage, Wild Mushrooms, Fresh Spring Peas, Duck Bacon (yes, duck) and several types of cheeses.

Ridiculous good
