The Questions Get Answered

So last night was the Hitched Event that was held over at Smog Shoppe and presented by the ladies of Bash, Please. It featured "snagged" wedding vendors for brides-to-be to get aquainted with. We did a few tray passes and a Whole Roasted Salmon with a Mixed Vegetable Potato Salad and Salsa Verde to give a taste of what can be in store for "the big day". Beata Bernina was there with us helping to plate (we were slammed!) and take photos.

Tal and Matt did not answer the preliminary questionnaire that Hitched asked all the vendors to fill out so I took it upon myself to complete this task. As usual they have no idea of my overt underpinnings as this post has been up on the Hitched Blog for just about two months and I have heard not a word of it from either of them... and you think I would've, right? Maybe it's just that we are all in accord and they like "glamping" as much as I do!

Thank you Alison Steingold!

PS We are also at Cookbook and Paper or Plastik now!

Food for Working

Tal and I go to the kitchen sometimes, but only if Matt is willing to feed us.

I will even "help" if George Simian is there with a camera.

We work hard, Tal and I.

That's fresh pasta with house-made sausage BTW

Organic Mixed Greens and Matt

Actually Dweezil Zappa and Lisa Loeb (Remember her??) invented the Lasagna Cupcake, but I just found that out right here, right now. Giving credit where credit should be given.

Our Ride Has Been Pimped

We now have a fleet of two of these Hot Wheels lovingly designed and executed by the good people at Lacey Art Design. No, sadly at this time they do not run on our used and then meticulously cleaned fryer oil, but our cherry white '78 Mercedes Turbo Diesel 300SD does! She may indeed smell like a french fry but she purrs like a kitten and someday or vans will too. For now if you should see one of our Chevys driving past you in the southern region of California suffice it to say that they are filled with Lasagna Cupcakes and other delectables that you can find at

Tal Likes to Make Drinks

And of course Matt Likes to Make Food, so...

They decided to have a Cocktail Tasting Party with Meatball Sliders on their day "off"!

I have to pat myself on the back (pat, pat) because it is REALLY hard to narrow down from the dozens and dozens and dozens of images that George and Beata handed me after this event. I've tried here but I'm kicking myself because I left out some really good ones in the interest of editing. These guys rule!

Check Beata out here and George here.

C h e e r s ! ! !

Because it's Fashion Week, I must point out that, yes we do in fact change our clothes from this event and this event, it's just that that these events all occurred on the same day and were all shot by George and Beata.

Peace Out, Long Live Fashion and Food and Photography!!!

Los Feliz Backyard Wedding

This was a sumptuous backyard wedding we did in Los Feliz with the ladies of Bash, Please. You can see it featured on 100 Layer Cake Here. We did a a Large Buffet for this wedding with Whole Roasted Wild Salmon and Braised Short Ribs. Brown Butter Pumpkin Lasagna Cupcakes and Baby Artichoke Lasagna Cupcakes along with two Salads and Roasted Vegetables. Perfect for a warm summer evening!

To finish this whimsical wedding the bride opted for a Summer Berry White Chocolate Cake Trifle (ooooh those berries at Pudwill Farms make my heart swell!!).

Annual Whole Roasted Pig at Silverlake Wine

First Course

Fresh Lima Bean Salad with House-Made Ricotta made from Straus Organic Barista Milk

Yes, I said Straus Barista Milk. We inherit it from Intelligentsia, one of the perks of doing the food at their Pasadena Coffee House. Straus is a very creamy milk that is strained for Baristas to make their fabulous coffees. We are gifted it from time to time and make Ricotta Cheese from it which is pretty much a slice of heaven.

Second Course

Burrata and Smoked Mozzarella Lasagna served with Wild Yellow Roma Tomatoes from Schaner Farms

Schaner Farms- have you tried their eggs?? Please do try their eggs.

Third Course

Wild Caught Salmon atop Shaved Asparagus and Pea Tendril Salad with Tomatillo Salsa

Fourth Course

Whole Nieman Ranch Roasted Pig!

De-boned and Stuffed with Pork Belly
